Repromeda — Egg Retrieval

Three oocytes retrieved under general anesthesia. Smooth, alert recovery with minimal discomfort. Cycle 2 already mapped — short protocol again.

Visit: Egg retrieval under general anesthesia

TL;DR

3 oocytes retrieved. In line with the low-response forecast across the monitoring scans (~2–3 expected; AFC 4 / AMH 0.9).
General anesthesia (chosen over light/local). Fasted overnight. Under within seconds — and woke notably alert, far less groggy than the Canada (Grace) retrieval.
Minimal pain, very little discomfort. Light pink spotting on the first pee only, then clear.
Progesterone tablets started — every evening.
Cycle 2 planned: short protocol again (Dr’s recommendation), same medications + same doses as Cycle 1, with Androgel (testosterone) priming beforehand. Prescriptions to be filled in Hungary this time.
~8,500 EUR paid this visit (treatment + medications).
Open: fertilization report — how many of the 3 fertilize — still to come.

Retrieval & Outcome

3 oocytes retrieved.

Oocytes retrieved	3 — consistent with the low-response forecast (AFC 4 / AMH 0.9; monitoring scans pointed to ~2–3).
Anesthesia	General. Chosen over light/local sedation (local was used at Grace in Canada). Fasting confirmed since the night before.
Timing	Scheduled 9 AM; taken in ~9:15 (another patient went first). Arrived at the clinic ~8–8:15 AM.
Check-in	Medical bracelet issued at the front desk, scanned at the OR door.
Sperm sample	Adam provided the sample the same morning.

Recovery

Woke notably alert — able to hold a conversation almost right away. A clear contrast to the Grace retrieval in Canada, where the grogginess lasted much longer.
Minimal pain and very little discomfort after the procedure.
Light pink spotting on the first pee only; everything clear after.
Tea, then a croissant, after the long overnight fast.
Shared the pre-op wait with two other patients — good company that made the morning easier.
Dressed and discharged after recovery; left the clinic ~1:30 PM.

Medications & Cycle 2 Plan

Now (post-retrieval)	Progesterone tablets every evening.
Cycle 2 protocol	Short protocol again — per the doctor’s recommendation. (Long protocol was the discussed alternative; not chosen.)
Cycle 2 medications	Same medications + same doses as Cycle 1.
Priming	Androgel (testosterone) before Cycle 2 — took the clinic’s last box in stock.
Where to fill	Prescriptions to be filled in Hungary this time (not pre-shipped).
Paid this visit	~8,500 EUR (treatment + medications).

Logistics

Sat Jun 13Left Gyöngyös ~11–11:30 AM → Courtyard by Marriott Brno ~4:30 PM. Checked in, parked, rested; evening walk. Sun Jun 14Retrieval. First car in the clinic lot. Left the clinic ~1:30 PM → back in Gyöngyös ~6:30 PM.

Comms gap: the Friday SMS we were told to expect never arrived. Emailed Adéla to confirm the trigger shots were done, and again Sunday morning to give our ~8–8:15 AM arrival time.
