Sabbatical Calendar

Canonical bölcsőde-week template (June 1 onwards). Anchored to Nathan's daycare hours (compressed 9:00 drop / 15:00 pick) and Ádám's 18:00 CET remote-work start. Transition weeks (May 23 arrival → ~June 1 bölcsőde start) and stim/Brno cycle weeks differ — see notes.

How to read this. Two work-sprints fit inside the 9:00–15:00 bölcsőde window. Sprints (deep work) are 90 min, batched. Email batched twice/day. Coffee cutoff at 12:00. No screens 1 hr before bed. Friday's first sprint becomes the Capture & Publish Lab. Evenings 18:00 onward you are the solo parent — Ádám is in his work window. Weekends are the only real partnership time; protect them.

Thursday Sprint 1 — pre-writing the stim-peak week — is the highest-leverage item this week. If anything else slips, that one doesn't.

Recommended setup: create a dedicated "Sabbatical" calendar in GCal first (separate color, hideable on overwhelming days). Time zone anchored to Europe/Budapest. Events start June 1, 2026 and recur weekly until Nov 18, 2026.

📝 Variations & Cycle Weeks
  • Stim cycle weeks (Phase B): Sprint 1 may start later if morning monitoring in Brno or Gyöngyös. Sprint 2 may compress or skip on injection-heavy or travel days. Walks shift from exercise to emotional regulation. Don't fight clinic schedules.
  • Brno trips: decided per-trip. Day trips → solo, Nathan in bölcsőde, Ádám parents the afternoon shift. Overnight stays → either Ádám stays with Nathan in Gyöngyös, or family travels together (Nathan misses bölcsőde those days). Mark Brno blocks in GCal once decided.
  • B-rest weeks: the canonical grid runs in full. Treat these as the real work weeks — expert calls, content shipped, paid consults later in the stay.
  • Phase C (transfer, Sept–Oct): reduce sprint count to 1/day. Add buffer for emotional load. Wind-down extends to 90 min.
  • Coffee cutoff at 12:00 is a hard constraint, not a guideline. Caffeine half-life ~5–6 hrs.
  • Cold room (17–19°C) for sleep; lights dim from 21:30.
  • Friend slot Saturday afternoon is calendar-blocked, not vibes. Easiest thing to drop, hardest to recover during a long stay.
  • Partnership-time blind spot: Ádám wakes ~10–11, works 18:00 onward, so weekday overlap with him is mostly lunch + briefly at handoff. You'll be asleep when he finishes work. Weekends are the only real partnership window — protect both days aggressively, and consider one "no-Nathan" couple-block per weekend if grandparents can cover.
